Annual Meeting 2011 Summary
On Saturday August 13th the 2011 SFNA Annual Meeting took place at Becket Town Hall.
President Bob Wollenberg moderated the meeting. Bob reviewed the upcoming elections
(Friday, August 19th) and explained the proposed new by-laws. Dick Marx gave
a treasurer’s report. It was explained that SFNA took advantage of the
Massachusetts/Becket Tax Amnesty legislation to clear up the back taxes on three
properties: the old castle lot, the large lot surrounding that lot, and the
combined lot forming the Big Robin berm on Mystic Isle Way.
A major presentation was made by Becket Police Chief, Bill Elovirta, on the subject of Neighborhood Watch and the importance of reporting any suspicious activity to the police. He assures that if you want to remain anonymous that is perfectly acceptable. It was a telephone call that lead to the arrest of the suspected Forest “copper” thief.
